When did being illegal become okay?
When exactly did being an illegal become okay? When did being an illegal alien ENTITLE you? I read this article on WSBTV.com today and it made me angry! Why, how, when did these people feel it was okay to be in our country illegally? And why are so many Americans not opposed to them receiving benefits? I know they come to this country to have a better life. I am all for that, but there is a right and wrong way to do it. I have a friend from Brazil. She immigrated here when she was in high school legally. I graduated college with her. She married an American man and has 3 children. It wasn't until she was pregnant with her 2nd child that she received her citizenship. Not because she was waiting, because it took her that long to go thru the process. But she did it the right way. She was proud to be here the right way. When did we let it be okay for these selfish people who think they belong here and are entitled to be here??? Ughhh!

Can you please make up your mind?
Dearest Mother Nature,
After surviving a grueling winter of freezing temperatures and snowpocalypse every other week, I have yet another bone to pick with you. I know I often complain about the pollen and to be honest was thankful for the rain last week. And then I quite enjoyed the beautiful weekend weather we have had. And today, well today it was 81! BEAUTIFULLY perfect! But tonight severe storms are supposed to roll in. I can deal with those storms but what I cannot deal with is the fact that it was 81 today and tomorrow it is going to be 57. REALLY??? Can we have a little smaller of a variance? I know it is spring and spring usually means that the temps go up and down but that much? I could deal with say 81 to 65 but geez!
Yours truly,

Balancing Act
Life is all about balance. How much time to spend with your friends vs family. Spending money on what you want vs. what you need. Having the car you want vs. one that you can afford. Finding this balance is always a little tricky. I was raised in a home that taught me the importance of family, friendships, and the value of a dollar.
I will be the first (and probably proudest) to tell you that I have no problem going straight to the clearance rack in any store. Yes, even the grocery store! Even in shopping strictly the clearance you can find yourself in trouble financially. This is where the what you want vs what you need comes in to play.
So where is the fine line? Its never clear. And it is never in the same place for everyone, each person has to find their own. (Ha! Thought I was going to be wise and tell you exactly where it was...nope, no can do!) I am on a search for mine. Yes, even a person with a Finance degree has to find their line. Now, I am not terribly in debt, in no way of losing my home or car, and no remote chance of going bankrupt. But, I own a home, that has expenses. I am at an age where I can't just spend and splurge all the time, instead I need to save some. But, there is no need to go to extremes. It is a balancing act afterall...

Why I love my Church...
I seriously love my church! It is rather large. We have 3 services, 2 blended and one contemporary. But, while it is large, it feels small. We have all ages...from the 80 year olds to the 2 year olds. I have a family there. I am involved with the singles and I love these people. I have such a great group of friends that will keep me laughing to the point of squeaking, accountable when I get out of line, and tell me they love me when I both acting crazy and then when I am not in the best of moods. They are the best girlfriends and guy friends a girl could ask for.
Today was our church wide brunch. Instead of having service and Sunday School, we came together and had brunch. Dr. Lee spoke on how we are all a family. That we do not say my God, but OUR God. He is all of our Father which makes us all brothers and sisters and we look out for our family. I just thought it was neat how old and young, small and large, everyone could come together as a family.
Those are just a few reasons why I love my church! Do you have a church to call home? Do you love your church? Do you have a church family?

Stir Crazy
What does one do when they are stuck inside their home for 3 days? The past 2 days were not to bad because the weather was yucky but today, I look outside and two things happen. 1) I am longing to be out there basking in the sunshine where it is warm and letting the pup's play and 2) I wince and remember how bad the sunshine is killing my head and that if I go out these allergies will flair up and I will be home bound longer. Apparently I have a sinus infection and am "highly contagious" according to my doctor. So, here I am day number 3 stuck inside with the puppies (who are thoroughly enjoying my being home) and I can't go anywhere, see anyone etc. Yep, the stir crazy is setting in!
Oh and by the way, my laptop is back in action after a month and a half of not having it because the adapter died!

Hi there!
Kelly's Korner is having a show us your life singles edition. She has done it before and I thought to myself that it was a crazy idea but since I am trying to step out of my comfort zone this year I thought I would give it a try. (Sorry for the run on sentence there!)
So about me...
I am 28 and own my own home. I bought my cute little cape cod style home in June of '09 and I love it! I work for a Fortune 500 company in a profession I never thought I would get in to but love it and am considering getting my masters in it! I am a Christian and am involved with the singles group at my church. I have 2 puppies that are quite entertaining and I post a lot about them. I am a southern girl at heart born and raised here in Georgia. I LOVE my UGA Bulldogs and in the fall do not think of disturbing me during a game! Yes, I understand football and can hold a very lengthy conversation about it. Most of my extended family was all boys growing up so I was the football when we played together! That is just a little about me!

Happy New Year! (5 days late!)
So as I began to think of the new year starting and the fact that I am turning the big 3-0 in just 17 very short months I thought I needed to get back on the blog band wagon. Mostly to hold my self accountable for my goals/resolutions that I am making. I thought about doing 30 before 30 but I knew I would probably not achieve that many items...that and I couldn't think of 30 things! So I am just going to randomly set goals for myself over the next year and a half starting with these:
1) Let go... reduce my control. Let things just flow. I love to be in control and know how everything is going to flow and end. I think that I would gain so much from others and learn a lot if I just let loose a little and let everything go with the flow.
2) Attend church service (not just Sunday School Class) 3 out of 4 Sunday's each month.
3) Be on time! I am a notorious 5 minute late person!
4) Be financially more stable.
5) Replace my roof.
6) Teach Chloe to be a more sociable dog. (And Hershey too!)
7) Read 12 books in 12 months and write a blog review. I have almost finished my book for January so I will post a review soon.
8) Blog more often! This will help make me remember events and things I have done!
I am sure there will be more to come but this is a good start!
