House Hunting

As I said in my last post, I was still house hunting. I was really active at it back in March. Literally going just about everyday looking at different houses. I had found one that I really liked and then found out it was already under contract. I then found another one that was cute, a GREAT price, but HUGE!! Someone out bid me with a cash offer. Well, where I hadn't given up hope of finding anything, I wasn't really looking all that much. I had just gotten my hopes up and then crushed and top it off with work has been super busy.

Anyways, Monday an automatic email came from my real estate agent. From the 4 or so pictures the house looked pretty cute. I emailed her and told her to go check it out for me. (We had an arrangement where if I found something she would go check it out and then let me know if it was even worth trying to find time to see it.) She called me Tuesday night and said that the house needed a couple of things but that it had just been listed Monday and was SUPER CUTE and totally me! On top of that she had talked to the real estate agent who was listing it and was told to make any offer, they would probably accept it. Well, luckily I had yesterday off. I met her out there at 12:30. By 3:30 we had gone back to her office and written an offer and faxed it in. We gave them until Tuesday evening to reply. I wasn't expecting much as this time I had decided to NOT get my hopes up and just let this be. I remember sitting at her office while she was faxing it praying that whatever God wants I am OK with. I know that there is a house out there for me and it would come at the right time.

At around 8:30 last night Tina (my real estate agent) called and told me the good news! Not only did we get what we asked for, but they are giving me a credit for any repairs to the house!!!!! I am sooooooo excited!!! I AM A HOMEOWNER.....well not officially until May 26th but still! I just think it is to funny that I had already taken that week off.

The house is 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. The master is on the main, the other 2 beds and bath are upstairs. It has a living room/dining room combo. It has a fenced in back yard! It does not have a garage but I can deal with that. It does have a small storage building for the lawnmower and all those random yard tools I will be purchasing!

MIA

I do apologize for being MIA here lately. You see, our dear president (and I use that term loosely as I am not a supporter) passed the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act in February. Most of you probably know it as the stimulus package. I refer to it as "ARRA." Walk around my office for an hour or so and you will hear ARRA this and ARRA that. No, we don't say it by its letters....ARRA is a word to us. Well, dear ARRA has taken my co-workers and myself captive. I am definitely a slave to it lately. So, I apologize if you are missing out on quality reading....because my blog is just sooo entertaining! HA!

Anyways, what new with Mel?

Well, my Mom celebrated her _ _nd birthday on April 18th. (I left that blank on purpose...she would KILL me if I said it) We went to Mary Mac's Tea Room for dinner. WOW!!!!!!!!! Such amazing food! If you have not been then you definitely need to try it out!

I am still house hunting. Sort of....with what little time I have in the evenings. But, I am still looking and definitely want to buy a house here in the next few months.

Chloe is growing and getting crazy! She went to the beauty shop last Thursday and was shaved except for her face. She looks like a little lion!

Prom is this weekend. My Freshman cousin is going with a Senior. I am still having major issues with this, but her Daddy swears he is a good guy. (Yeah, Ive known a few good guys....) I just hope this "good guy" knows what will happen if he....well we wont go there, lets just say I am a lot worse to deal with than her Brothers, Dad, Uncle, and Grandfather! (Love you Bren!)

That's about all I can think of right now! I know I haven't posted a recipe in a long time...I really haven't cooked lately. I did make a pasta salad last week for our Spring picnic at work. I will post it soon! It is quite yummy!

Rain Rain, Go Away!

I know that we need the rain, but I just wish that the 1 day I have at home could be sunshiney! I dream of this summer sitting outside while working from home basking in the sun! (If my allergies cooperate!) But with all this rain my mood has been quite sour!

Life is still busy as usual! Work is still crazy...i.e. - had to work about 8 hours on Saturday (6:30 am to around 2:30 pm). The temps we have asked me if I had a life and I responded with...What that??? I actually do have a life, it is just suffering at the moment due to work!

Easter was pretty good! I got up and went to church, Waumba Land was CRAZY!!!! 13 kids, 5 adults and I spent the entire time walking the halls with 2 kids! They would want to walk about 10-15 steps and then be carried 10-15 steps....this went on for the entire hour..and they wanted to be held at the same time! My arm muscles got a great work out! Church service was good, LOUD! I swear they crank it up for the holidays! Its like Oooo we will have more people lets make it louder! HA! But service was still good! After church I came home (Only took me 12 minutes to get out of the parking lot! That's great compared to the normal 30-45 minutes! I will have to park there again! :) ) I got in a quick nap and then had Easter dinner with my parents and Aunt and her boyfriend/live in person. (Yeah - we wont go there!) I took another nap after they left and then went to bed around 11 pm! Hey, I was tired!

Anyways, this weekend is mom's birthday and we are planning to go see the King Tut Exhibit! So excited about that! And then go the Mary Mac's for dinner!!! Yum, Yum!!!

Exhaustion

I hate that I am not blogging as much but I have been completely exhausted! Work is CRAZY!!! Working 10 hour days is not fun....today I went in, stayed for about 3 hours, and came home and took a 5 hour nap! And, I could go back to bed now and sleep all night! Whew!

Sunday was so much fun! Angela, her mother, Erica, and I went to see Happy Days: The Musical at The Fox! Cute musical! But just getting in some girl time was great! Thanks Ang for the invite!

Easter is this weekend! It is probably my second favorite holiday. I love looking at all the cute spring/Easter dresses at the stores! It makes me want a little girl to dress up! I went last night and purchased my Easter outfit. I can't quite figure out why I wear jeans to church most Sunday's but come Easter I have to dress up! I guess that's the ole' Southern Baptist in me!

That is all I can think of right now! My brain is completely mush! Between my allergies and exhaustion I am of no use! Have a great Easter weekend!

Another week has passed...

My my how time flies by! I have been crazy busy at work. We have hired on 5 temps and I have had to be in the office everyday this week. Now, I do realize that most people have to go to their office 5 days a week but when you are so used to a schedule of only having to get up early and get dressed 3 days a week, it makes you exhausted. Not to mention that I am constantly running back and forth from my cube to the room where the temps are being housed. I feel like I run a race each day!!!

Here are some thoughts/things going on:

Spring is apparently in full swing! Last week I only had to take my Zyrtec 2 or 3 times....oh no this week, even with all the rain, I have had to take it EVERY day!!! Is the end of May here yet?

I doubt he reads this, but, Happy Birthday Josh! Tomorrow (April 4th) is my little brother's birthday. I hear he is getting a tattoo.

Congrats to Mike and Patricia! Little Juliana was born April 1st! An April Fool's baby!!! She is adorable and looks just like her big brother Lucas! Mike is not going to be a happy man when she turns 16!!!

I am over the rain. I know we need it, but can we just get one weekend where it is 70ish and sunny? I really want to wear flip flops!

I cant figure out why my puppy cant seem to get on the same sleeping schedule as me! For about 2 weeks now its been up and down all night! Last night, I had just dosed off finally at about 12:30 and at 1:30 she had BoBo and was squeaking away....wanting me to play tug of war with her!

I am super excited that Heather is coming into town today!!!!
